Join CoolTan Arts’ BIG Largactyl Shuffle Sponsored Walk from Maudsley Hospital to Tate Modern.
This year’s guided cultural walk is entitled ‘No Health without Mental Health’ and delves into the history and social impact of the NHS, ’From cradle to grave’ since 1948.
Participation in CoolTan Arts’ sponsored walk, helps both raising money and de-stigmatise mental health. Join Comedian and broadcaster Arthur Smith for a day of laughter and culture.
He says: “Supporting CoolTan’s Sponsored Walk and Promoting World Mental Health Day this year, is something I am pleased to do especially as I have had friends and family who have suffered clinical depression. Since I love both walking and London I am very much looking forward to the walk and to discovering more about Southwark, the area I grew up in. As an occasional (unreliable) tour guide I may need to point out places of interest myself. I am also looking forward to meeting those who'll be at the sponsored Shuffle - kicking the system's boredom into touch.”
There will be breaks, poetry readings and other surprises along the route. The walk finishes with a reception and refreshments at Tate Modern: an opportunity to relax and get to know each other.
